Day 261 - The Z Party and The Fireflies!

I'm so proud of the protesters in New York City ... Z-Park as they call it now. They are the people who are just fed up and Making the Time to go to another city to show their disgust with what has happened to the middle class in our country right now.  I wish I had time and didn't have to go to school, I believe I'd be one of them.  I've protested before but only if I really believe in the cause.  This cause I believe in.  The Greed on Wall Street has no accountability.  Nobody has gone to jail for milking the American Pension Funds of their hard-earned money.  Where are all the jobs?  Does one CEO really need a $14  million dollar bonus, can't there be ANY jobs created from at least HALF of that money?

Really....the protesters represent the fireflies of any season.  They only come when it's hot and humid. They are here for a moment in glory of light. Their display is dazzling and peaceful.  Sometimes you don't want them to leave.  They remind me of when we were kids and the sun had retired to leave us running around the steep hill of my grandfathers.  Usually as we chased them, we ended up tripping over a tree root or two.  If we caught them, we [embarrassingly I admit] we sometimes ripped their blinking abdomen off and placed it on our ring finger.  We now had a nice bling of a ring.  Only to be disappointed the next day that the bling didn't last and we had killed a beautiful creation of God.  Doesn't sound too different than the CEO's and Wall Street traders does it?

Events are the ephemera of history; they pass across its stage like fireflies, hardly glimpsed before they settle back into darkness and as often as not into oblivion. Every event, however brief, has to be sure a contribution to make, lights up some dark corner or even some wide vista of history. Nor it it only political history which benefits most, for every historical landscape--political, economic, social, even geographical--is illumined by the intermittent flare of the event. ~ Fernand Braudel

Their magic is beauty
